As you can tell, it's never a dull moment at Compound. These are only the people/things I can sneak picks of too. Imagine if I had video. Imagine.
Nothing starts out the week quite like a self-emasculated man in green pants riding a carnation pink bike. This week it was Portland''s own streetwear maven and owner of shudder worthy Destroy clothing, Bobby Destroy!
You've heard about the hood workout videos, right? Now comes hood sparring. Dude was seriously shadow boxing for 5 minutes before the cops came.
I know, I know. The pics really really SMALL(damn zoom on outta date camera phones), so I'll be your eyes on this one. The kids wearing Gucci Mids. Did you laugh? THEN YOU MISSED THE PUNCHLINE.
At Compound we have to hold bags(ya know, so people won't bump into stuff...). Sometimes, people forget them. Womp womp!
When they leave their bags behind, we dig through them. Supposedly ALL Timberland bags come with Camo Ice now.

Customer of the Week!!!
At 5'7, a bicycle enthusiast from Portland, Oregon. Ladies and gentlemen youuuuur cuuuuuuustomer of the week!!!
Customer of the week: Bike riding Portlander with well supported ankles!
Not only has the Air Max 95's original colorway been retroed nearly as much as the white on white AF1, but last year Nike added a dimension they had only used previously on Air Force Ones: Whoring it out beyond belief.
With so many eyelets they'd bring a tear to David Robinson eyes, these are the perfect gift for the calcium deficient woman in your life(get it?! 'Cause the shoe will support her weak ankles! Ahahaha--ZING!). Face it everyone needs ankle support once in a while.
First off, she bugged me because she rode her bike here. WHY WOULD YOU RIDE YOUR BIKE WHEN YOU HAVE THE PLUSH RIDE OF THE AIR MAX 95'S COMBINED WITH NO POSSIBILITY OF AN ANKLE SPRAIN? And second, how does the top of her socks still stick out every so slightly? These are the kind of question I don't want to have to answer...

Impossible is nothing but $1000 dollars.
In case you haven't heard, Kevin Garnett and the Celtics are taking on Luke Walton's LA Lakers in an NBA Final for the ages. What better way then to commemorate this then by releasing a "limited edition" shoe!
First a little back story: Adidas was once a footwear company with a near stranglehold on the athletic shoe biz, but by being totally disconnected to the market they lost all relevancy. After forty years of misses and futile attempts to return to market supremacy, Adidas, desperate for credibility in the cool guy atmosphere, enlists a can't lose strategy: misinterpret data that leads you to believe you can sell a performance basketball shoe for a thousand dollars.
After Nike's viral and street level marketing for the Hyperdunk drove the first batch to sell for $1000+ on Ebay, Adidas signed off on a ridiculous deal that will have them selling between 33 and 57 pairs(closer to 33...) for a retail of $1017 dollars. Of course, Adidas has invested absolutely no sort of marketing into the effort and will retail this shoe for around five times more than the Hyperdunk. Aside from that, Adidas has added no discernible improvements to the shoe, but luckily it has kept the boring and generic look that Adidas is known the world over for.
Hell, Lebron's shoe's don't even go for a $1000 anymore . Mike's don't usually hit the G mark, either. Neither of those were as widely available as the, ahem, Commander KG.
Luckily Nike is able to maintain the largest market share by simply shooting themselves in the foot less than everyone else.

PLC2 . . . Bad Biznus Decision
How bad does your establishment have to be doing before you deiced to stimulate business by putting up a "We take food stamps" sign? As a business owner I have to say this is a Poor Life Choice. What type of customers are you attracting? And doesn't the "We take food stamps" sign contradict the "No public restrooms" sign.
Sidenote:One of my favorite things about Portland is the bridges. While the traffic sucks the view of commuting over the Ross Island bridge everyday to and from work makes it all worth while.
Celtics in 6!

Please pay close attention. Look closely at this man's Neck. Notice anything? Now look at his hat! Yeah, did you catch that? Satisfying isn't it? (click on pic for larger version)
This one is begging to be short and sweet, so if you're asking yourself: "Should I get Branded?"
I say Just Do It!

The B.O.P. Invites YOU to DESTROY DESTROY
That's right...absolutely awful Portland-based streetwear brand DESTROY is holding another "event" this Friday. (Oh, excuse me, they're a real streetwear brand now...no longer do they depend on Myspace anymore.) There's sure to be hideous past-their-prime hipster girls, Heidi's sister in some performing capacity that the flyer image I was sent happened to cut off, and of course an abundance of douchebaggery from Hawthorne's spewed-out cool guys. You're probably thinking..."There's no way in HELL I'll show up. Why should I go when I could be watching the premier of Sandler's Zohan?"
Answer: Free Beer.
We encourage all guests to make fools of themselves, accidentally steal hoodies, "view art," and then realize you're still probably the coolest guy in the house.
Remember...DESTROY's claim to fame stems from such classics as their infamous 'Rapin Chix' tee.
I also personally take offense to their 100% Ikea-bought store fixtures and set-up.
That's my move.

GLOW IN THE DARK AFTER PARTY With ?UESTLOVE
WOW, so this is my second honorary blog post. Here's to putting us over 100 views a day....
After the apparent craziness that was the Glow In The Dark Tour (have fun Cam?) Nick, Brendon and I headed on over to the saucebox to meet up with Huff for the after-party festivities. Loud music was played, lots of people tried to act fresh and we decided to charge the hell out of Brendon's tab which thankfully fueled enough drunken fun for the night.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience filled with BOP'esque bonding experiences and drunk girls trying to freak in-between sets. If you didn't come you missed out on an otherwise great Tuesday night in the city. . .
As if you didn't already know, or assume, Rev fucking killed it spinning until ?uest rolled through around 11:30 or so.
?uest came on and continued to kill it with such cuts as Nelly's Hot in Here (Herrrr?) and numerous obligatory white people party jams....seemed a lot fresher when ?uest played it huh.....
Shouts to Dreezy, Huff and Killa C for the good times.
oh and peter smith, where the fuck are you and where have you been?
cheers!

Future Footwear Inspiration?
It's been a bit of time since the people behind "the prancing horse" have unveiled something completely new, but here it is. With seemingly everything else (movies, shoes, clothes, architecture, and other cars) being retro inspired, why wouldn't Ferrari take a shot at it?
Introducing the new Ferrari California, inspired by, you guessed it, the old Ferrari California. They did bring the usual Ferrari technology, ride, and overall beauty to this car to freshen it up. It is also their first ever hard-top drop-top.
Behold the majestic beauty:
Customer of the Week!!!
Yes, there's been a drought (da drought?) in CoW's in the past month or so, but fear not. The sun is beginning to peak out in Portland and with it comes a cadre of awful, awful human beings.
Customer of the week: X-mas Wigger!!!
Add one part green tall tee, one part 503 fitted hat and a pinch of red du-rag and you've got yourself a recipe for CoW.
X-mas wigger is a little bit more of a discerning customer than you might realize. At first, you'd think his outfit is just thrown together, but really it's his machismo and forthright bravado that allow this outfit to work. You see, the green of his shirt matches with the Portland theme of his hat. But what of the red, you wonder? The red represents the anger of the minorities and the struggles that they face. Which, of course, is why he awkwardly stops and tries to befriend minorities on the street, a gesture that truly unifies his Portland based theme.

The Week In Review: May 25th-June 1st
A new weekly post from a not-to-be-mentioned streetwear blog currently focusing on reformatting to a pretentiously written music review blog spurred (spurned?) the idea for my version of the week in review. So, sit back and A) enjoy B) be amazed C) watch while both teams play hard or D) writhe in pain.
Size 11.5 samples are definitely hard to come by, but Buffalo Exchange somehow manages to do it AGAIN! At first I thought they may have been fakes, but on closer inspection the nubuck crumpled at a lightning quick rate -- A sure sign of endearment only the keenest of shoe connoisseurs can recognize from a true Jordan Brand product.
Be aware all old blacks, you're no longer needed for tee shirt slogans. Obama is the new black: perfect for the discreetly racist progressive urban hipster. AA, too.
Little known fact: University of Oregon players received Lebron II's in their school colors to sell for exhorbitant prices represent their school with pride and dignity.
Littler known fact: They would have got these had they made it to the Final Four. Conversely, there is no pride or dignity involved in these.
[Chorus 2X: Shug - singing] + (Djay)

Lessons from The B.O.P. Vol. 1.0
Don't smoke kids.
Don't phone home.
Don't wear THIS shirt. Ever. Especially not to the Sex & The City premier earlier that night. (All homo)
Don't wear chains.
But dance. Dance the night away.
(Unless you drink a few Long Islands/Motivators/DoubleRumCokes while wearing Jordan Phly Lows)
Get silly kids.
