It's probably pouring rain in Portland...

Once again the weather was amazing in San Diego.

Checked out Upper Deck for a bit yesterday. HQ is HUGE. Also got to see some unreal game-worn stuff in person that I can't show pics of just yet....like these...

REEL WORLD: Where The Wild Things Are

M o n d a y , M a r c h 3 0 , 2 0 0 9
This was one of my all time favorite books when I was just a young lad. I'd align it right next to The Polar Express. I can't say I was too thrilled to see the Big Screen adaptation of The Polar Express but I am excited to see this film brought to us by director extraordinaire Spike Jonze, the guy who helm'ed a countless number of Music Videos we have grown to love over the last decade and a half. He has also done feature work like Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. Two great movies with Oscar nods. Finally, he brings us a piece of Cinema a number of us have been patiently waiting for since we heard about it's pre-production in 2005.

In 2003 he did one of my favorite Docs on FAT LIP from Pharcyde. It's insightful and funny as shit at times. He did the doc while filming one of the funniest music videos ever, What's Up Fat Lip (one of my top ten favorite songs too.)

60 minutes of Video Game James

F r i d a y , M a r c h 2 7 , 2 0 0 9,
The only news programing I watch consistantly every week is 60 minutes. For some reason I HATE to watch the local news because they only show you depressing crap. For me 60 minutes has always presented a good view of current & interesting news. But the real reason to watch is Andy Rooney - who is like your senile grandparent, that makes Jerry Seinfeld jokes "why do they always . . . ?", and is so out of touch with reality it's actually interesting to listen & laugh at his take on ridiculous topics.

If you're not convinced to watch the show yet, this week there is an extra incentive to watch . . .

Video Game!

And another clip

Lebron's interview with Steve Kroft is airing this Sunday on 60 minutes @ 7pm ET/PS on CBS!

The Scale Of Suck....

F r i d a y , M a r c h 2 7 , 2 0 0 9
Rather than entirely desecrate the holy scripture that is Ira's beloved Streetwear Grading System by hereby unraveling all of the equity that the aforementioned author has built into the highly anticipated SGS by way of a pseudo-imposter column......

I'll let you be the judge.

Rate this hot garbage from 1-10 on The Scale Of Suck.

I personally like the surely unintended 'Chris Brown Bitch' that any pedestrian would read upon first glance from across the street.

I was gonna go with an 8 initially.....but the fact that the tee doesn't match any notable sneaker release for the next three months obviously bumps it up to a 9.

Shouts to Satchel for the call out.

The Future Of Time?

When I'm not reading about sneakers or fancy houses, another thing I love checking out is watch blogs, and apparently the Concord C1 QuantumGravity (hell of an epic name, no?) is setting the internets on fire. It almost looks more like a sci-fi space station from a mid-90's movie than your everyday timepiece.

You can check out the official press release HERE.

Here's my five favorite things this watch boasts:

* Individualist seconds. What the HELL.
* Cylinder of glowing green liquid. This liquid features "green phosphorescent nanoparticles" and measures power reserve.
* Aerial bi-axial tourbillon mechanism. I have no idea what this really means, but it has something to do with the floating cables that control the rotating wheels for the watch to operate.
* The actual construction. There's 511 parts in this traditionally sized watch. Or, according to Concord, "An anatomy that privileges space and transparency." Exactly.
* Rubberized band. Just like my current favorite-watch-I-might-never-afford, the rubberized bands are a nice contrast from the overly technical face and transparent mechanisms.

So yeah....take this all in. You can even follow along the design and development process if you care that much. (You don't.) There's only 10 total pieces being made...and I want no part in finding out how much this monster will run.
