Impossible is nothing but $1000 dollars.

In case you haven't heard, Kevin Garnett and the Celtics are taking on Luke Walton's LA Lakers in an NBA Final for the ages. What better way then to commemorate this then by releasing a "limited edition" shoe!

First a little back story: Adidas was once a footwear company with a near stranglehold on the athletic shoe biz, but by being totally disconnected to the market they lost all relevancy. After forty years of misses and futile attempts to return to market supremacy, Adidas, desperate for credibility in the cool guy atmosphere, enlists a can't lose strategy: misinterpret data that leads you to believe you can sell a performance basketball shoe for a thousand dollars.

After Nike's viral and street level marketing for the Hyperdunk drove the first batch to sell for $1000+ on Ebay, Adidas signed off on a ridiculous deal that will have them selling between 33 and 57 pairs(closer to 33...) for a retail of $1017 dollars. Of course, Adidas has invested absolutely no sort of marketing into the effort and will retail this shoe for around five times more than the Hyperdunk. Aside from that, Adidas has added no discernible improvements to the shoe, but luckily it has kept the boring and generic look that Adidas is known the world over for.

Hell, Lebron's shoe's don't even go for a $1000 anymore . Mike's don't usually hit the G mark, either. Neither of those were as widely available as the, ahem, Commander KG.

Luckily Nike is able to maintain the largest market share by simply shooting themselves in the foot less than everyone else.
